"What a great night at The Old Inn! We really enjoyed ourselves, despite not really knowing anyone. Lovely grub, grog, and singing!, When's the next one?" - Ian and Jenny
"What an amazing evening, thank you so much Daf, Old Inn, the boys and all. x" Susie C
We had a wonderful evening at The Old Inn, with a delegation from the Mariners Away Shantymen from South Zeal, singers from Dartmoor Harmony and an offshoot of the Widecombe Singers known as the Widecombe Whalers. Or Wailers. I'm not sure which, but I know which is most appropriate. Plus one or two solo acts, poems and stories.
Diners dressed as deckhands, pirates, fishermen and Admirals but I forgot to bring the plank so nobody walked it.
Andrew and Richard of the Old Inn did an amazing job decorating the conservatory for us with flags, wetsuits, lifeboats (lilos), blow-up seagulls and bikinis draped all over the place. Plus the odd rubber lobster or two. We could not have been more nautical.
The food was spot-on and the grog flowing freely...
