About UsThe first rule of the Widecombe Sailing Club is We Don't Get Wet.
*** Just because we're a sailing club, it doesn't mean we actually go out on boats and get wet. Ours is not That Kind of Sailing Club. Absolutely not. The Widecombe Sailing Club was formed early in 2015 to give Steve Knightley, front man of Show of Hands, an excuse to include our small but perfectly formed moorland village in his 'All at Sea' tour of coastal venues in early 2016. The ploy worked better than we could have guessed and now we find ourselves with a beautiful, bouncing club, dedicated to bringing live music, good food and nautical puns to our part of Dartmoor. If you would like to read the story of the club's inception on Daf's blog, click here. If you would like to sing along to our Official Club Song (you will know the tune), click here. If you are interested in the lyrics to our other club song - kindly written for us by Simon Butcher, click here and scroll down a bit.
