We were soooo lucky to have the Gigspanner Big Band for an album launch. This ensemble only meets sporadically through the year and this is the first album they have done together - it really was not yer average gig.
There is a lot of Gigspanner on You Tube - here's something to start you off: Hard Times of Old England - and watch this, too: Louisiana Flack with some interesting percussive movements.
The addition of Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin, who launched the Widecombe Sailing Club way back in October 2015, is also on You Tube. If you look at this, you'll find the GBB playing Phil & Hannah's Silbury Hill.
Check out this sampler from the new live album here: soundcloud.com/peter-knights-gigspanner/gigspanner-big-band-live-featuring-phillip-henry-hannah-martin-sample-of-tracks
The Gigspanner Big Band performed to a sell-out audience. Here are some of the comments from those who came:
'Great performers who seemed to really enjoy playing together as much as we enjoyed watching & listening. Anyway, a big thank you for organising yet another great Daf night of music.'
